Google Talk Broken and all apps stuck on “Starting Download” or “Authorizing Purchase on Droid
My Google Talk has been down for a month.
I’ve tried the forums, here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/chat/thread?tid=074130bd7779fffb&hl=en starting on 12/16
the problem went away for a few days but then returned and I’ve not had it work since. I’m still floating around the Google forums, but Google doesn’t respond despite what appears to be large numbers of people looking for help.
You may say – “But it’s free!” and I say, oh, but no it’s not. Google talk seems to be the root of why my Verizon Droid won’t connect with my google account. So, no Google Talk on the Droid, no application downloads
So, I called Verizon and they are sure it’s a Google Account problem as well – but Verizon can’t get Google on the phone either!? (Google’s name is stamped on my phone, BTW!)

Where is Google? Anyone know how to fix this issue, or get some support for this… drop me a line!
I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE TOO! IT SAYS
‘could not connect to Server. Will retry Shortly’
EVERYTIME I TRY TO LOG INTO MY GOOGLE TALK, WHICH IN TURNS DOESNT ALLOW ME TO DOWNLOAD APPS AS WELL. I HAVE TRIED A HARD RESET AND EVEN WENT INTO THE VERIZON STORE AND THEY SWAPPED IT OUT FOR A BRAND NEW ONE, AND SAME ISSUE. TECH SUPPORT WAS VERY UNHELPFULL AS WELL, NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, ESPECIALLY SINCE ITS A BRAND NEW PHONE TOO!
IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR TWO DAYS NOW! ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
